Let's Change Our Language

Updated: Aug 9, 2019

Do you live life planned or unplanned?

Most of us tend to like order in our lives.  We have morning routines, exercise routines, meals planned, bank accounts reconciled, houses organized.  We are creatures of habit.  If we don’t feel in control it can be upsetting.

We also know that there are times in our lives when things come our way that we didn’t expect.  It might be because of our own decisions or decisions other people have made.  The unexpected things can give us joy or they might cause stress.  How do you handle things that are unplanned?  Do you run from them or do you take them head on and go with the flow?

Here at Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries we work with women who are dealing with unplanned pregnancies.  Many might say that they shouldn’t be surprised.  Many will say it is their choice and their consequence.  Still many will say there is an easy solution to their situation.

With the movie Unplanned in theaters, there has been recent conversation about the topic of pro-life or pro-choice.  We are not here to debate or get political, however we know the reality of the choices that are presented to women if they become pregnant.  Whatever situation brings them to us, we are here to make a difference in their lives and the life of their child.  We believe in life and the creator of life!  We will extend the grace of God to the women that come to us so that they may choose life!

The movie Unplanned moved a recent donor to support our ministry.  Even though Beth was always pro-life she was inspired to now be more fervent in the cause.  How we support women, how we value life, how we talk about pregnant women makes a difference.  Whether a pregnancy is unplanned or not, choose your words wisely.

It is up to us to change our language, to change our perception, to change our responses so that women may come to know that it is right to make the choice for life.

Even though there may not be a visible sign of life in the early stages of pregnancy, it doesn't change the truth that life begins at conception!  We can make a difference right here in our maternity home, right now in Sanford with those right in front of us!  Our God is a redeemer of life and we plan to keep helping those in an unplanned situation see their value through the God of order.

"What appears as unplanned to us can be used for good in God's Plans!"

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28.
