ABOUT OUR SANFORD MATERNITY HOME
Serving Central Florida and Applicants Nationwide
While our maternity home is physically located in Sanford, FL—serving mothers across Seminole, Orange, Volusia, Osceola, and Brevard counties—we welcome single pregnant women from anywhere across the United States who are seeking a safe, Christ-centered home to carry their baby to full term.
The Sanford maternity home, located northeast of Orlando, is comfortable and inviting, completely furnished, and has enough room for up to six residents. Each room is furnished with a twin bed, dresser, alarm clock, linens and towels. Our private rooms are also furnished with a crib.
A Residential Manager (RM) oversees all activities in and around the home, and a Program Manager (PM) oversees the maternity home program. The RM is an invaluable resource to the residents and is the primary support for their daily living.
We hope each woman finds the love and support she needs to succeed, along with on-going training for managing a household, and unlimited prayer and mentoring.

SANFORD MATERNITY HOME FEATURES
The first maternity home opened by Redeeming Life is known as the "Southward House" and is located in sunny Sanford, Florida, a suburb northeast of Orlando. The home has been open since 2013 and was originally a duplex, which was completely remodeled and renovated for family living. This property features six resident bedrooms, a screened porch, and a modern kitchen with updated appliances. The home's safety and security features include smoke detectors, front door access control, a monitored alarm system and a surveillance system for protection.
LIFE IN THE SANFORD MATERNITY HOME
Residents of the Sanford maternity home enjoy a clean, comfortable home and year-round climate control with central air and heat. Residents have access to WiFi and laptops in order to look for employment, complete school work or program work. The Program Manager meets with residents on a regular basis through video conferences and phone calls. A full-time Residential Manager lives adjacent to the home in an attached apartment.

TRANSITION HOME
A step toward independence for maternity home graduates
The transition home located in Sanford, Florida opened in August of 2018 after a complete renovation to meet the ministry's needs. This addition expands our capacity to minister to women who graduate from the maternity home program. Often, these women need ongoing support and services critical to their stability and future independence. The transition home affords these young families continued counseling and support while saving money so they can prepare for a financially independent future.
This comfortable home has three bedrooms to serve the graduates and their newborn babies. Here they learn how to live independently while managing work, school and parenting responsibilities. Residents in good standing may apply for the transition program after the birth of their child and completion of specific maternity home program requirements.
MEET SANFORD'S HOST CHURCH FAMILY
Lutheran Church of the Redeemer is the host congregation for the Sanford, Florida maternity and transition homes, and is under the leadership of Pastor Edward DeWitt. Redeemer offers our residents weekly Bible study and worship opportunities, along with adult confirmation classes to learn about Jesus and deepen their faith. As the host congregation, Redeemer has no operational responsibilities in the maternity home. Redeemer offers a nursery every Sunday for residents and others to care for small children so that parents may devote themselves to worship activities without distraction.
